Although this is not how I intend my final music video to look, it shows the key framing effects which I wish to use in my final music video. Although this looks unprofessional, my final music video use more 'sketchy' drawings and so look a little more vintage.

I decided to type up the lyrics for Olivia Mitchell- Life because my plan is to keep the music video for this song very literal and so the lyrics are a neccessity in doing this.  

 

 

Print advert research

I think the above print advert for '4Music' is a really good advert. I think the shocking pink really makes the advert stand out. I also really like the use of minimal colours for a more clear advert. The small pallette of colours is attractive to the viewers eye and creates more focus and house style for the print advert.


I really like the above print advert for sony headphones. I think the use of one simple music note in the middle creates a very clutter free effect and again, focuses entirely on what the advert is about. The contrast in the black/white colour sceme works exceptionally well to draw the viewers into the advert.

Whilst I really like the pale/pastel colour scheme in the Mumford & Sons print advert, I think it looks slightly cluttered and busy. I really like the photo which has been used along the bottom of the advert as it not only breaks the print advert up into text and images, but where the doors are open and so it isn't a straight line looks unique and interesting.

Digipak flat plans

 

 

The above photos show the flat plans for my digipak for Olivia Mitchell- Life. By designing flat plans on paper before starting to start the design work on photoshop I was able to trial ideas and see what layout worked well. I designed the 'front cover' of the digipak in a little more detail than the rest to see if the idea would look professional and interesting. By designing the above flat plans, I was also able to work out the different joins that would be needed to hold the digipak together.

Postmodernism- Weezer/Happy Days

The video 'Buddy Holly' by Weezer is a parody of the US TV series Happy Days. The Buddy Holly video mimicks the US TV series in a number of ways;
- Both videos have men playing guitars
- Both vidoes have over enthusiastic band members singing and dancing
- Both videos have over the top facial expressions
- Both videos start with bright 'tube' style writing
- In both videos, people are sitting at tables
- The same style of clothing is used in both videos
- The same style of dancing and dancers clothing is also shown in both videos
- Both videos are set in a diner style scene
- The 'diner man' is the same in both videos
- Both videos adopt the same sort of hairstyles
